In just its first two years of operation, this small surf tour has brought in approximately $178,000 AUD to regional communities throughout Queensland and New South Wales. This can be broken down into a few categories;
- fuel purchased at local service stations (approx. $12,000aud)
- groceries purchased from local supermarkets ($15,000aud approx.)
- Staying at local campsites ($57360 aud approx.)
- surf lessons delivered by local instructors ($58,800aud approx.)
- Firsts Nations Experiences by local First Nations People ($5400aud approx.)
- lunch purchased at local eateries by passengers which is not included on the tour (approx. $30,240aud)

The Surf Bus tours travel between Sydney and Brisbane in the Summer months, and between Byron Bay and Rainbow Beach in the Winter Months.
Surf Bus director Seb Higgins-George said he is pleased to help bring in more tourism to areas which often miss out!
“I’m happy that my small business has the power to make slight financial injections into local communities,” he said.
“The surf tour market doesn’t necessarily have a season as we get waves year round on the East Coast.
“I want the locals in these areas we pass through to see the value in having a Surf Bus, and believe as the company grows we can deliver even more to these local areas.”

The Surf Bus visits regional surf towns such as Rainbow Beach, the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Yamba, Red Rock, Scotts Head, Crescent Head, Seal Rocks and Newcastle.
The Surf Tours are open to all levels and run like an Australian surf camp on wheels, showcasing the best surf spots in Australia, camping sites, wildlife watching and First Nations Experiences.
